I’ve found that when you’re traveling, you always learn things. Whether it’s the best way to get through the airport or the best way to get through a stagnant pond, it might as well be documented.

1. Laugh. Laugh at everything, seriously. If you sit next to the fattest dude on the airplane, laugh. If your bag gets lost for 3 hours, laugh. If someone says something to you in a different language, you might as well go ahead and laugh. I’ve found that no matter where one is, breaking down your rough exterior and laughing at yourself or the situation around you can easily make it better.

2. Don’t go hiking in flip flops. Just don’t do it. Don’t.

3. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, don’t walk 3 miles in wet shorts. Two words: horrible rash.

4. Cover your head when you fall off your tabla de surf. Enserio. Today I learned why. See picture below:
